چکیده

The increasing prevalence of three-dimensional (3D) printing optical housings and mounts necessitates a better understanding the properties materials. This paper describes method for using multithickness samples 3D materials to measure transmittance spectra at wavelengths from 400 2400 nm [visible short-wave infrared (IR)]. In this method, with material thicknesses 1, 2, 3, 4 mm were positioned in front uniform light source spectrometer probe on opposing side transmittance. Transmission depended primarily thickness color sample, multiple scattering prevented use simple exponential model relate transmittance, extinction, thickness. A Solidworks file printer are included enable measurements additional same method.

3D printing of bacteria into functional complex materials

Despite recent advances to control the spatial composition and dynamic functionalities of bacteria embedded in materials, bacterial localization into complex three-dimensional (3D) geometries remains a major challenge. We demonstrate a 3D printing approach to create bacteria-derived functional materials by combining the natural diverse metabolism of bacteria with the shape design freedom of add...

Emulsion Inks for 3D Printing of High Porosity Materials.

Photocurable emulsion inks for use with solid freeform fabrication (SFF) to generate constructs with hierarchical porosity are presented. A high internal phase emulsion (HIPE) templating technique was utilized to prepare water-in-oil emulsions from a hydrophobic photopolymer, surfactant, and water. These HIPEs displayed strong shear thinning behavior that permitted layer-by-layer deposition int...

Multimaterial magnetically assisted 3D printing of composite materials

3D printing has become commonplace for the manufacturing of objects with unusual geometries. Recent developments that enabled printing of multiple materials indicate that the technology can potentially offer a much wider design space beyond unusual shaping. Here we show that a new dimension in this design space can be exploited through the control of the orientation of anisotropic particles use...
